You were made for greatness.
I’m a quote junkie. I have such a hard time articulating my own thoughts and feelings, so I often turn to others people’s words to do the job for me. I love quotes about anything and everything, but I especially love inspirational quotes. Some days you just need a little extra motivation to get you moving in the right direction and that’s exactly what i needed the other day. That’s how I came across this quote by Pope Benedict XVI.
“The world offers you comfort, but you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness.”
Far too often I find myself being lazy in my life. I go through each day without putting in the effort to better myself or my life. I find myself settling, even though I am not satisfied. And unfortunately, I need daily reminders to stay focused on my goals in order to see them through to completion. So I was pretty excited to come across this bit of wisdom. And the more I thought about it, the more excited I became.
The world will offer you comfort. The world will tell you it owes you and you should not work hard for your dreams. The world will tell you to relax and see what happens.
I was not made for comfort. I was not made to accept the status quo. I was not made to sit idly and watch those around me succeed at things I also could have done. I was not made to tamp down my own aspirations just because they are difficult to attain.
I was made for greatness. I was made to better myself every single day. I was made to write goals down and quietly crush them. I was made for hard work and dedication. I was made to see each success as a stepping stone to the next. I was made for more than I can even imagine!
I love having a goal in my heart to work toward, even if my head takes daily convincing to keep taking steps forward. What are your biggest motivators when you have goals? What helps you succeed?
